Back in 2022 I asked Classic Brands about fiberglass because they were often recommended as a cheap mattress options.
Asking Classic Brands About Fiberglass
I contacted Classic Brands and asked this question:
“Do any of your memory foam or latex mattresses contain Fiberglass (glass fibers, woven or non-woven), Modacrylic, Polyester, Rayon, or Silica in the covers or any other part of the mattress? What about Fire Retardant sprays like Antimony, are any of them used on your mattresses?”
Classic Brand got back to me fairly quickly.
Does Classic Brands have Fiberglass?
This is what Classic Brands had to say regarding fiberglass:
“Yes as a fire retardant we use fiberglass underneath of the scrim of the cover.”
-Classic Brands
Yes, Classic Brands mattresses definitely contain fiberglass.
However, Classic Brands went out of business in 2023 so you only have to worry if buying a second-hand mattress or old-stock that’s been sitting in a warehouse or liquidated during closing.

His ultimate goal is federal regulations that ban fiberglass from being used in mattresses, or at least a law that requires it to be listed as a material on required tags.
