Amore Beds makes hybrid, latex, and memory foam mattresses. Many Amore Beds mattresses are flippable and feature a different firmness for each side.
I decided to check whether Amore Beds uses fiberglass or not. With all the organic wool advertised on its website, I didn’t think fiberglass would be likely.
My assumption was correct, Amore Beds are fiberglass-free and rely on wool or FR rayon in its flame barriers
What Materials Does Amore Beds Use?
Amore Beds uses both synthetic and natural materials in its mattress designs to ensure healthier sleep. There are latex hybrids, foam hybrids, as well as an all-foam model.
The covers of Amore Beds mattresses are made with organic cotton or copper-infused rayon. Just beneath the covers are layers of organic wool batting.
Depending on the mattress model, it’s either comprised of fully organic latex with coils, latex and memory foam layers, plus the all-foam model which is just memory foam.
Does Amore Beds Use Fiberglass?
I asked Amore Beds about fiberglass and was told that it wouldn’t make sense to use fiberglass as a flame retardant in its latex models.
“Wool is an incredible material that wicks away moisture from your body as you sleep, keeping you cool and comfortable year-round. Wool also acts as a natural fire barrier (eliminating the need for harsh fire-socks), is resistant to dust mites and is inherently anti-microbial.” -Amore Beds
Amore Beds relies on organic wool as its flame barrier in its natural latex models.
However, it’s worth noting that wool is not fire-resistant enough when it comes to memory foam, which is more flammable than latex. Therefore, Amore Beds memory foam options use a fiberglass-free flame retardant rayon in its memory foam mattresses.
Final Thoughts on Amore Beds and Fiberglass
Amore Beds makes great fiberglass-free mattresses in its Chicago based factory.
Although it’s not a fully-organic mattress brand, the Amore Beds Natural 2-Sided Hybrid Mattress Duo is made with fully natural and organic materials. The other models have synthetic memory foam, but rest assured that none of Amore’s mattresses have fiberglass.

While shopping for his daughter’s first “big girl” bed in 2019, John learned about the hidden dangers of fiberglass in mattresses. Since then, he’s made it his mission to expose as much hidden fiberglass in mattresses as possible. His ultimate goal is federal regulations that ban fiberglass from being used in mattresses, or at least a law that requires it to be listed as a material on required tags.
